| Another season has come to an end with James Swan winning his third straight Mid-American Stock Car Series championship with Hankscraft Racing. For James, 2008 was also his fourth Mid-Am championship, something that has never been done (James, Bill Preitzel and Eddie Hoffman all had three championships going into 2008). It was truly a season were we felt like we had a chance to win every Mid-Am race (maybe with the exception of the race at Francis Creek) and some bad luck or unavoidable circumstances got in the way. - READ MORE |

Sparky’s “good luck” was once again not needed Sunday night at Slinger Superspeedway. James ran the car Sunday night at Slinger in their regular Sunday night program (a non-Mid Am event). After leaving Milwaukee in first place in Mid-Am points, everyone was feeling a little better about the season. With Adam camping with his family, Don and Lenny MIA and Ryan tending to his own Slinger Thunderstock car, James called on an unusual crew for the Slinger race. - READ MORE

Superstition compels some racers to go to extremes to avoid a bad day at the track. They believe that winning and losing is highly correlated to things most others would quickly dismiss as “happenstance”. Unfortunately my fellow Hankscraft Racing “Hot Lap” Blogger, Jim Francisco fell victim to it. - READ MORE

| I
usually get a bit philosophical in this blog and let Jim Francisco handle the race report, but I felt like doing more of a race report this time around. So far this year our team has been in the hunt every race. We are currently second in points. We have not won a race, but we have finished in the top five three out of the four races so far this year. - READ MORE |

| Congratulations to James Swan and Berge Racing for winning its second straight Mid-American series championship. Anyone who has followed the team on this website and elsewhere knows it was not an easy season. We faced some tough times throughout the year and we faced some very tough competition all season long. - READ MORE |

| This page is called The Finish Line because that is where most races end, and the goal of course, is to be the first car to reach it. Last night at Madison International Speedway, we did not make it to the finish line. Our night was ended when our car’s engine blew up going into turn three about half way through the race. - READ MORE |

| Racing – it seems to get into everyone’s blood at least once in their life time. If it is the Kentucky Derby, Indy 500, or the tour de France, the competitive juices start flowing and we are captivated by the experience of winning or at least competing in a race.- READ MORE |

| To think Hankscraft is involved in sponsoring a racing team is a little odd for most people who know Hankscraft to comprehend. After all, Hankscraft does not sell retail items like beer, breakfast cereal, or power tools, we don’t own a national chain of home improvement stores and we are not an overnight package delivery company. - READ MORE |
