Wishes for Christmas
With
the holiday season fast
approaching and after
watching a very boring
Nextel ban quet, I decided
to publish my final
2007 blog with ideas
from the past year and
wishes for the future. This
wish list for 2008 is
in no particular order.
- Wheels
that do not break
during a race.
I know this is
not the manufactures
fault and strictly
the race teams
too aggressive
driving, but
we do not wish
to experience
any
more broken wheels.
- While
on the same topic,
engines that do not
detonate during a
race. We would appreciate
better luck so the
team is not rebuilding
engines during weeknights.
- Better
race weather. We lost
too many races due
to inclement weather
which if they had
run; it may have changed
the outcome of the
series finish.
- Continue
to watch over the
drivers and crew so
no one gets hurt.
- May
the Mid American Series
continue to flourish.
Spread the word about
the great racing to
everyone you meet.
Ask people to attend.
Update websites so
individuals know what
is going on. Promote
yourself and others
so people wish to
attend a Saturday
or Sunday race. Invite
a potential sponsor
to a race or even
the January ban quet.
- Sponsorship
for everyone. A tough,
but very necessary
part of the business.
Ask companies to come
aboard, (someone asked
us three times before
we said yes). Assume
that several potentials
will say no, but there
are thousands of untapped
individuals and corporations.
- May
short track racing
continue to grow and
flourish with added
attendance.
- May
purses grow to meet
the continued rising
costs for race teams
to compete at the
local tracks.
- One
more championship
for Berge racing in
2008. Perhaps a very
selfish goal, yet
one that all race
teams strive for.
- Good
celebrations after
races. This is one
of the great things
we as sponsors enjoyed
this past year. Being
with the team and
celebrating with other
competitors after
the race was great.
- Good
health to all teams,
sponsors, and families
in 2008 and beyond.
- Along
with previous point, may
the cure for cancer
come quickly.
I lost a Mother, Sister,
and most recently
Cousin and am angry
and sad that this
disease is taking
the ones I love. May
breakthroughs come
soon!
And
finally, from all
of us at Hankscraft,
Merry Christmas and
Happy Holidays to
you and your extended
families.
Watch
for new information
in Mid January at this
site. (76 days till
Daytona)
Racing
to the Checkers,
Jim
